Things to do in the Cotswolds this Autumn

Autumn is upon us and we believe there is no better way to spend it than by visiting our Cotswolds Hotel and soaking up all the charm on offer. We’ve put together a list of the four best things to see and do this season in the Cotswolds. Whats on? You’ll have to carry on reading to find out…

It’s the start of autumn and we’re seeing the pleasing tones of red, gold and green making their annual appearance in the great outdoors. As we prepare to leave the summer sun behind and begin to make way for shorter days and longer nights, we can look forward to all the beauty coming with the change.

Make the most of this beautiful season and find out  what’s on. Cotswolds will be sure to keep you entertained so you can start planning the perfect break away.

Batsford Arboretum

This one is a clear choice. If you’re visiting the Cotswolds, a trip to the Arboretum is near enough a necessity. This is the grand stage of all things seasonal – you will get to see beautiful plants, trees and flowers all in the comfortable surroundings of this stunning Botanical Garden.

Cleeve Hill and Common Walk

Explore the natural beauty of the Cotswolds and embark on a stunning walk which overlooks breath-taking views from open hilltops. Walk through woodlands and across streams to uncover the outstanding sights that the Cotswolds Way has to offer.

Lodge Park & Sherborne Estate

Another obvious choice for us – originally built as a grandstand, this National Trust owned house is a true treasure as it is the last remaining 17th Century deer course and grandstand in the whole of England. Though the house is only open at certain times to the public, the footpaths surrounding it are always open and this is where you will capture the true beauty of the season with vast green spaces to take in and admire.

Cotswold Farm Park

This farm has been around since the 1970s and is still open to this day as a conservation park. Home to a variety of different animals, this is a perfect family destination with activity centres for young children and wildlife walks for adults. Not only is the park a fun day out, it will also provide you with the perfect scenery to experience Autumn in all its glory.

Whether you’re visiting the Cotswolds for a day or for a week, make sure to check out our suggestions and let us know if you decide to visit them. If you are staying the night, why not reserve a room at Lords of the Manor for the perfect country stay experience?
