Few other Cotswolds hotels have such an enviable location as we do. Surrounded by sweeping landscapes and natural beauty, we adore the area and want to share with you our four favourite summer walks in the Cotswolds.

1. Warden’s Way

Starting off at Bourton on the Water, the Warden’s Way walk will take you on a journey through the villages of Lower Slaughter, Naunton and Guiting Power. Concluding in Winchcombe, you will be able to experience 13.5 miles of utter beauty; don’t be surprised if you find sheep grazing in the luscious meadows, honey-coloured stone architecture and footbridges that have seen plenty of visitors throughout the centuries. Don’t forget your walking boots or camera! You can find out more about other walking tours here, or perhaps you would prefer the sister route Windrush Way with its proximity to Sudeley Castle.

2. The Slaughter’s Walk

This walk can also be extended to include the aforementioned Warden’s Way route. Taking in the history and beauty of both Upper and Lower Slaughter, you will be able to enjoy two delightful Cotswolds villages as you follow the River Eye. Expect to see riverside cottages, stone footbridges, old watermills and picturesque village greens. It’s truly a delight for all the senses and a great way to get acquainted with where Lords of the Manor calls home.

3. Cotswolds Hare Trail

If you want a walk that is a little bit different, then why not spend the day exploring the Cotswolds Hare Trail? Returning for 2018, the trail seeks to enlighten visitors with the history and culture of the brown hare and its significance to the Cotswolds. Fun for all the family, this is one day out that you won’t tire of walking – and your social media will benefit from taking beautiful shots too. The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has decided to partner the event this year, which speaks volumes as to the incredible sights and scenery you will enjoy if you take part in the trail.

4. Lords’ Grounds

Our award-winning gardens are the perfect place for a relaxed stroll on a warm summers day. Boasting 8 acres that seamlessly blend into the surrounding countryside, venture outside and you will be gifted greenery at every turn. Take in the beauty of the outdoors at your own pace; we’re sure the promise of a cold drink or decadent afternoon tea when you return is more than welcome when you’ve had your fill of our walled garden, perennial planting, fruit trees, lake and meadow. With all this on offer, it’s safe to say our hotel’s grounds and gardens are the ideal spot for spending a lazy afternoon or if you prefer, you can start your day right with a refreshing morning walk.
