Our Guide to The Cotswold Show 2017
The Cotswold Show, a highlight of the Cotswolds social calendar, is imminent and it’s time to get organised for the spectacular two-day event on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July 2017.
As a Cotswolds hotel only half an hour from all the action, we’ve put together a nifty guide to the top eight things to remember and to do when attending The Cotswold Show this year. Let’s waste no time in getting ready:
#1 Practical Footwear
Despite The Cotswolds being renowned as a stylish sort of place, the Show’s house style is definitely ‘practical’ – all about exploring and having fun. Choose appropriate footwear which isn’t going to compromise your weekend.
#2 Country Attire
You can’t really get any more countrified than The Cotswold Show, we therefore highly recommend that you dress for the occasion. From flat caps and tweed jackets to trousers with braces, at this event, if it’s ‘traditionally Cotswolds’ it’s completely acceptable.
#3 Plenty of Cash
Despite the significant developments in contactless payment, wireless card machines and availability of 3G/4G, we’d like to remind spectators that being in a rural location; cards may not be widely accepted at the show. We therefore advise you to bring plenty of spending money in cash but keep it safe.
#4 Bring Your Dog
The show is especially dog friendly, therefore, we suggest you bring your pampered pooches and charismatic canines (especially as they also receive VIP free entry). Plus, your furry friends can come to our dog friendly hotel in the Cotswolds afterwards if you fancy coming to stay with us!
#5 Bring an Appetite
With a whole host of local suppliers showcasing their fresh and seasonal produce, there are plenty of tasters and samples. And if that wasn’t enough, there is a whole variety of specialist cuisine caterers to satisfy any summer show cravings.
#6 Hold onto Your Hats
One of the many impressive showcases at the event is at The Falconry. Be sure to stop by the Bathurst Area to see one of the many impressive displays by Hawkeye Falconry UK. For the first time ever, Hawkeye is offering ‘Have a Go’ sessions. You sign up to a session throughout the day, at their stand, on a first come first serve basis.
#7 Umbrellas & Sunscreen
A weird combination, but this is England after all… as with all outdoor events in the UK, one must be prepared for changing weather conditions. We therefore recommend packing a brolly and sunscreen to keep you prepared for rain or sun.
The Cotswold Show really is a spectacular event with plenty to see and do, however if you really want to make the most of the show make sure you bring lots of energy and an open mind.
