Wedding Options

The hotel is often booked on an exclusive use basis and if you are thinking of a weekend wedding, exclusive use of the hotel for 2 days is requested. The tariff for this does depend on the date you have in mind but an idea of cost would be £9500 per day including VAT. Exclusive use offers you and your guests’ sole use of our 8 acres of grounds, all public rooms and bedrooms on a bed and breakfast basis from 2pm on the day of arrival until 11am on the day of departure.

The Accommodation

The hotel has 26 luxurious bedrooms and offers accommodation for up to 52 adult guests. Some of our rooms allow for sofa beds, extras beds or cots for any families joining the wedding party. Our rooms are guaranteed for check in from 2pm and check out is kindly requested by 11am on the morning of departure.

The Ceremony

The hotel has special dispensation to hold civil ceremonies and civil partnership ceremonies in three of the public rooms, the Garden Room, The Conservatory and The Restaurant. The restaurant is actually licensed for 100 guests but with the Wedding breakfast in mind, we generally recommend a maximum of 60 guests. I would be most happy to discuss this and explain further in person.

If you wish to marry at the Hotel, you will need the attendance of a Superintendent Registrar of the District to register the marriage. The North Cotswold Register Office can be found at :

The Wedding Breakfast

For the wedding breakfast our restaurant can seat up to 60 guests but please note for parties of 51-60 banqueting chairs must be hired, the cost of which varies depending on the type of chair chosen.

Our Chef, Matt Weedon will be happy to discuss menus with you but some sample menus are included to give an idea of the style of cuisine we offer. For parties of 8 or more guests we do ask that a set menu is decided upon – ie one starter, one main course and one dessert for the entire party. Wedding breakfasts start from £49.00 per person.

Similarly, our Sommelier, Fabrice Bouffant will be delighted to guide you through our wine list; we have a superb selection of wines starting from £19.50 per bottle and Champagne from £50.00 per bottle.

Marquee

To accommodate a greater number of guests a marquee can be arranged in the grounds for 50 to 200 people. There are a limited number of dates available and tariffs vary according to your individual needs.

Flowers

All public areas at The Lords are decorated with fresh floral arrangements. However, if you would like additional floral decorations to suit your colour scheme then we will be pleased to arrange this for you. Alternatively you can meet with our florist who can help with ideas and prices.

Service Charge

A service charge of 10% will be added to the food and beverage account. This is discretionary.

Booking Terms

We are happy to provisionally hold a date for two weeks with no obligation. Following this time, an initial non-refundable deposit of £500.00 to secure the date is required. A contract and wedding policy is then issued, outlining an itinerary of the day. Six weeks later, a further non-refundable £500.00 is required to confirm the booking. Full pre-payment is required 7 working days prior to the wedding date. Please note that for 2 day exclusive use reservations the total deposit required will be £2000.00 taken in two payments of £500.00 and then the remaining £1500.00 six weeks later.

Music

There are several options concerning music for the Ceremony and Reception, from string quartet or harpist, to simply your own selection of music. We are able to arrange a disco or live music up until midnight if you have exclusive use of the hotel.

Master of Ceremonies

Our Manager on duty will act as a Master of Ceremony guiding you throughout the day, announcing all formalities to you, your family and friends. However, if you would like a Master of Ceremonies we can help you to arrange this.
