Cotswolds country house hotel Lords of the Manor received four ‘Inspector’s Choice’ red stars and retained three Rosettes for the hotel’s fine dining restaurant at the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards, on Tuesday 2 September at Grosvenor House, London.
The AA’s red stars are only awarded to hotels that stand out as the very best in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Previously, Lords of the Manor held three. The additional star is recognition of the significant improvement in its offering. The boutique hotel recently underwent a radical makeover and took on talented new chef, Matt Weedon.
Attended by world-renowned chefs and prominent hoteliers, the AA Hospitality Awards are an opportunity to recognise and reward the excellent services provided by the UK’s very best establishments. Winners are selected in recognition of their excellence and success within their chosen market, but they must also have shown a significant improvement in their services and facilities in the preceding 12-18 months. The achievements of these establishments throughout the year put them at the pinnacle of the hospitality industry.
Ingo Wiangke, general manager of Lords of the Manor, says: “This is an outstanding achievement for our team and we are all absolutely thrilled. The refurbishment was extensive but the hotel now looks stunning – seamlessly blending tradition and modernity – and Matt’s exciting culinary skills have really boosted our gastronomic offering. On top of these two significant changes, our already renowned service levels are better than ever.”
